I’m excited to share one of my proud moments as a developer — the launch of my very first Chrome Extension, now officially published on the Chrome Web Store! 🎉

🔍 What is Image Scout?
Image Scout is a lightweight yet powerful tool that allows users to:
- Instantly view image dimensions (width & height).
- Check the file size and file type of any image.
- Download images at their original or custom sizes.
The extension is designed to make the workflow of designers, developers, and content creators more efficient by providing quick insights without needing extra tools.
🌟 Why I Built It
As a full-stack developer, I often work with web design and performance optimization. Images play a huge role in both — but getting their details usually means right-clicking, saving, or digging into browser dev tools.
So, I decided to create a simple one-click solution:
- Fast ⚡
- Intuitive 🎯
- Developer-friendly 👨💻
🛠️ Tech Behind the Extension
Building this extension was also a chance to deepen my knowledge in:
- Manifest V3 (Chrome’s latest extension standard)
- JavaScript & DOM manipulation
- Browser APIs (activeTab, permissions)
- Best practices in security & performance

📌 Future Improvements
While Image Scout is already useful, I have plans to add:
- Batch image download support
- More advanced resizing options
- Dark/light mode interface
- Localization for Arabic and other languages 🌍
🎉 Final Thoughts
This project marks a special milestone in my journey as a developer. It’s the first time I’ve shipped a Chrome Extension to production, and I’m really proud to make it open-source for everyone to use and improve.
I’d love to hear your feedback! 🚀
